Women’s Specialist Centre for Gloucester’s Hospital

The £32 million redevelopment of Gloucester’s Hospital is giving local residents better care than ever before.  Parmjit has been working hard to ensure a further £30m will be spent on our hospital.  This money is being invested in a women’s specialist centre – including a new birthing unit.

Parmjit brought Gillian Merron, a government Health Minister to see the building of the centre.

Hosptial Visit

Parmjit and Gillian view the building of our new women’s specialist centre.

This proud record of investment stands in stark contrast to Tory plans to cut Gloucester’s health budget.

Although David Cameron recently claimed in Gloucestershire that he wanted to give more money to deprived communities, Parmjit has revealed how Conservative proposals are a re-hash of a funding formula created by Andrew Lansley MP (the Tory Health Spokesman) three years ago.

Parmjit Dhanda commented:

“The Tory formula for the NHS will take £109 from every man, woman and child in Gloucestershire.  That’s a cut of around 9% for our local NHS.  We must resist this and stop the Tories from taking the axe to Gloucestershire’s NHS.”
